Covering the political, economic and cultural life of China for the past three decades, Madeleine O'Dea, journalist and foreign correspondent has had first hand experience of the rise of modern China.

Sue Trevaskes is an expert in Chinese law and justice, contemporary Chinese society and culture and Chinese language.

Hear the 'conversation' between Madeleine and Sue, as they interact and share their personal and professional journey in and about China, including Madeleine's memoir The Phoenix Years, in which she followed the personal stories of nine contemporary Chinese artists to illustrate the history of China's rise from economic ruin to global giant in the past four decades.
